A new ribbon command, View By, opens the underlying data behind any cell in a separate worksheet so you can manipulate it without breaking your main report. Useful for ad-hoc filtering and what-if analysis when you don’t want to touch the formatted template.

New in 2026R1 View By is new in Workday OfficeConnect 2026R1 (released March 14, 2026). It opens the data underlying any cell in a separate worksheet — so you can ad-hoc slice and filter without touching your formatted main report.

Before 2026R1, the typical way to dig into a number was Cell Explorer / Drill Down, which is great for understanding which elements contribute to a cell, but doesn’t give you a sandbox to manipulate the underlying intersection.

Personal What-If Scenarios (2026R1)

New in 2026R1 Personal what-if scenarios are new in Workday OfficeConnect 2026R1. End users can create their own scenario versions in Excel, branched from a parent version, without involving an Adaptive Planning administrator and without cluttering the shared version list.

Before 2026R1, every what-if version had to be created in Adaptive Planning by a planning admin or modeler — a slow process that produced a long, shared list of one-off versions. Personal scenarios solve both problems at once.
